BACKYARD BRIDAL SHOWER I for the future mrs. broten
A few weeks ago, we posted Karsten and Sarah’s engagement session. In this post, you’ll see her surprise but not-so-surprise backyard bridal shower that almost didn’t happen! It was quite a feat to pull off this intimate gathering. The original date didn’t work, and we found out that Sarah already knew about our surprise! Mad scramble through and through! Amidst babies, busy schedules and impromptu ideas, Phoebe, myself and a bunch of amazing ladies at our church finally made it happen! Since it’s summer, we put a little twist on high-tea and served iced-tea as well. Everyone pitched in and brought some delicious baked and savoury goodies!
I offered our tiny but homey backyard, and Alex and Ellen hosted the shower. For the decor, Stephanie was our resident florist, Evelyn made the cute tassels, my sister, Michaela baked the cake and Phoebe did the calligraphy for the cake toppers. We’re only slightly joking when we say that we’ll change our name to EightyFifth Street & Co. one day. If the other girls were to carry on with their fantastic creative work, we just might turn EightyFifth Street into a full-service event business!
Bottom line is, we wanted to throw our dear Sarah a small but fun and memorable shower. We hope the mission was accomplished!
Stay tuned for Sarah and Karsten’s wedding previews! They’re getting married real soon!
